History: Jim Knox had an uneventful but disciplined childhood for the most part. His father was a cop in San Diego and his mother owned her own business. After graduating from high school, the young adult followed in his father's footsteps and soon became a rising star in the San Diego PD. He rose to the level of Detective before he got caught in a corruption scandal that ended with the Police Chief resigning and a few cops fired from the force. Jim was forced out right after the scandal by the new Police Chief. The rumors suggested that he was left with no place in the department given that the Police Chief had been a close friend of his father's. Disgraced and unemployable, he decided to leave the state and travel up to Seattle. He was denied a PI license once the background checks revealed his history with the SDPD. For the last three years, he has been operating as a PI anyway. For the last few months, he has been using Quinn's Restaurant to conduct his business, which means he is there daily and is considered a regular. He doesn't cause any trouble and takes all his meals there, switching between coffee and beer depending on the time of the day.

Hooks & Habits: Jim keeps an eye on the staff and the other patrons of the restaurant. He isn't afraid to step up to help resolve something if it looks like things are going to turn violent. He seems to have become protective of the staff at the restaurant and would act as an effective bouncer if the need arises. Despite this, he never lets on that the others owe him anything other than letting him mind his own business.
